JOHN VIDAL, FUEL TAX SPECIALIST

Hello! My name is John Vidal.

I help companies and entrepreneurs get a fuel tax rebate from equipment that has a PTO (Power Take Off).

Born and raised in Brampton and currently residing in Port Colborne, Ontario; I left high school at an early age and joined the work force. I spent 10 years in the Health Care Industry and grew tired of constant layoffs. The next logical move in my mind was to get my commercial licence. Shortly after, I bought my own truck and became a broker.

Being a broker had its own serious challenges. High cost of repairs and fuel were difficult to manage alone as a broker (I wish I knew about the PTO rebate back then!)

This path led me to new opportunities in the construction industry. I drove rock trucks, dump trucks, floats; pretty much anything with wheels.

The construction industry also became a challenge with lay offs every winter. My family and I found it difficult to build a life with 2 children. I was looking for something more secure (not seasonal) so I looked for opportunities within the municipality.

During the last winter lay off from construction, I went back to school and got my high school diploma in 2010 and graduated the same day my son did from grade 8. It was historic family moment with both myself and my son in graduation caps.

Shortly after, I qualified for a job opportunity within the municipality and never looked back. I got a job in Halton Hills part time then eventually was able to get got full time temp in Caledon and then full time at the Town of Oakville. So, with my experiences I understand the struggles that businesses face in these industries and how hard it is and how easy the money goes.

This is why I enjoy getting your hard-earned money back into your pocket where it belongs. I also enjoy meeting new people and making new friends in the process.

When I am not working, I partake in “wind therapy” by getting on my Harley and riding down the open road. I am the Canadian National President for Knights on Bikes. We participate in the R.O.C.K. Ride for Kids Cancer every year and I am proud that our group of riders have raised over $58,000 over the last 5 years

My goal is to help as many people as I can get their rebates and work hard for them and provide them with outstanding customer service; something that we, at Holly Transportation Services, pride ourselves on.
