MICHAEL HOLLY, PRESIDENT

I grew up living in Ontario, Manitoba, and Quebec as my dad Joseph Holly ran the Engineering Department for Seagram Canada. I graduated from Chemical Engineering Technology from Mohawk College in Hamilton Ontario in 1985.

I started my career working in Hamilton for Metal Recovery Industries Inc. in both Research and Development and Quality Control Departments in the laboratory. I have not blown up a lab in some time and some days I miss that.

I was approached by Dr. Singh from Mohawk College to write a test generating program in dBase III plus. It was a successful project and I taught programming at Mohawk College for three years part time.

Metal Recovery Industries Inc. was purchased by Philip Environmental Services (PSC) in 1992. I then transferred to the Technical Department at PSC. These were exciting years at PSC as the Company grew from $34 million in revenue to $4.5 billion in four short years. My last position at PSC was the Customs and Fuel Tax Manager, North East Region.

In 1995, I attended a seminar put on by the Ontario Ministry of Revenue (MOR) on the IFTA program. It was at this seminar that I discovered the Power Take Off (PTO) refund program. I recovered just under $500,000 for PSC.These were turbulent times at PSC. After recovering a $77,000 refund, I wondered if other companies were recovering the refund. Holly Transportation Services Inc. (HTS) started on March 15, 1999 at a kitchen table servicing mainly the septic industry. We have grown far beyond our humble beginning to servicing the entire Transportation Industry. We represent over 400 companies recovering over $15 million. These numbers are growing every day and I am excited at the opportunity to work with additional Companies in recovering the refunds that they are entitled to.
